FREE Baby Swim Classes
Swim Central is now offering FREE Baby Swim Classes for babies from 4 months of age. Babies can swim for FREE in our Baby Swim program until they reach 6 months of age. Enrol today for Term 1 and have up to 8 weeks of FREE baby swimming lessons!
What is Baby Swim?
Baby Swim is an introduction to infant water familiarisation and is designed to teach basic skills which prepare parents and babies for our Water Babies program.
The classes are led by a qualified and experienced instructor who will guide you through the steps of learning how to safely hold your infant in the water, how to enhance their natural reflexes, teach your baby basic breath control and raise your awareness of water safety for your child at the beach, at the pool and at home.
Baby Swim is a fun and enjoyable experience for you to share with your baby.
When are the classes held?
We are currently running classes on Weekday mornings and on Saturday afternoons.
What qualifications do the swimming teachers hold?
Swimming teachers are specially trained to take Baby Swim classes and are there to teach the correct methods to parents through clear learning objectives and outcomes. All our Baby Swim and Water Baby instructors hold an AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant Aquatics qualification in addition to the minimum teacher requirements of Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety, CPR and a Working with Vulnerable People licence.
What are the class ratios?
Baby Swim classes have a maximum of 8 students in our lovely warm (33 deg) 6m x 4m, Salt Water pool. We aim for a gentle and relaxed learning environment for parents to bond with their baby.
How long do the lessons go for?
Lessons are 30 minutes in duration.
What are the Terms and Conditions?
The infants being enrolled must have a date of birth which indicates an age of between 4 months and 5 months and 3 weeks at the beginning of term. This ensures they are able to redeem the offer of between 1 and 8 free lessons. Once your child reaches 6 months of age, you can choose to end your classes at this point or continue to learn in our paid Water Babies program. There is no obligation to continue.
